charities we Love: For Scout Foundation

Every now and then, I like to donate my pieces to worthwhile causes. In fact, I’d love to start donating monthly. It’s just a little way of paying it forward and sharing a little bit of myself with others. After all, I’ve been so lucky lately and quite fortunate to have found my passion. So every month, I’m going to try to make it a goal to donate a piece to someone that could use it. If you have any suggestions for worthwhile charities, please feel free to send me a message!

This month, I’ll be donating this lovely piece to For Scout Foundation. It was painted in Driftwood, a light gray, with silver metallic damask pattern on the top, drawers, and bottom shelf.

What is For Scout Foundation?

Tony, Felicity, and Katie Cantrell have established the For Scout Foundation to honor the memory of Scout Cantrell. On October 2014, they lost Scout (only 9) due to complications from an asthma attack. The foundation provides charitable grants and financial support to organizations that Scout believed in and supported while she was alive in order “to make the world a little bit better place.” They support the American Asthma Foundation, Anderson Animal Shelter, arts and reading programs at local schools, and the Scout Cantrell Aquatic Scholarship Program.

How you can help?

On Sunday, April 30th you can go to Scout’s favorite restaurant, Old Towne Pub and Eatery, and bid on this item and support this wonderful organization. They’ll have food, live music, raffles, and silent auctions for other awesome things.
